So like a year or so ago I wanted to make a website dedicated to Japanese vita games. One where you could easily look up a game in the wild and see if it has a insert or what would come complete in the box. There would be pictures of what comes in the box and a link to a review done by someone or what have you. When you click on games it would bring up all the games in the database but in a random order if you wanted and you could potentially see a new game you didn't know. I wanted to keep it simple and ugly ads off of it. I even bought a domain for it. Eventually I'd really like to make it the best reference on the internet for all vita games not just Japanese! It would be really cool to see people add in descriptions and stuff and to give credit to those that do. Right now at www.vitashima.com It's mainly a stand cause I'm working on the back end a little each week. Tell me what you think!

Basically, you want to do a Vita version of Satakore.I like the idea, and would be happy to help in any way that I can, seeing as I'm in Japan and all. Considering that there are a number of Vita collectors out there, especially of limited editions, etc, I think this is something that quite a number of people would appreciate and consider contributing to.

I never even heard of SakaKore before! Yeah like that but maybe a little less 1999. And maybe a little less sexy. Well the hardest part of any database is getting the data. We need to set up away for people to see what information is needed and how they can contribute. I have a google sheet im currently working on we could use for the text data but I'm not sure how to deal with the images. Any suggestions?

Maybe I'm not sure what you mean, but I guess the question is, are you happy for something like a cloud-based system / wiki system where anyone at random can contribute, or are you wanting everything funneled in by you and a select few personally?
On another subject, I do know someone from the old Vita Lounge forums was actually doing something VERY similar to what you're suggesting here, for the Vita, and was even writing something of a general history for the console e.g. how the console performed in different countries, statistically. Shame the forum went down, as his information would have been invaluable.

The problem with letting just anyone add is that we really need to verify if its correct. So having someone or a group of people verify the submitted info is correct might be best. Especially when it comes to images. I'd like there to a be consistency and quality with them. I need to really set aside like a couple hours a week to work on it but yea...
I wonder if that person every got it up and running.

In which case, you're the admin and people need to first contact you for permission, and then eventually given the keys to add and alter when they've proven to be trustworthy.
